Sample Task Two

Sample Task #2: Animal Survey

This sample task demonstrates the survey feature. In tasks of this type, participants are presented with a prompt and respond by selecting the button that corresponds to their answer. The task could also have a participant select multiple answers instead of just one.

The step-by-step guide below provides instructions on how to build the “Animal Survey" task found in the EXAMPLE PROJECT.

Create New Task

TASK FORM: The following image shows the information entered and selections made in the new task form in Create A Project. You can later edit this form by selecting the “Edit Task” link found under the Task Name in your Project.

ADD DATASET: Choose the name for the dataset and upload a tab delimited manifest and the media files for the task. In this task there are five survey questions that appear in the manifest under the “Prompt” column.

Since there are no additional files for this task, and the manifest has all the data needed, attach the manifest where it says “Manifest File” and “Data Files”.

MANIFEST: Here is the manifest used for this task. Note: this is just an image; the actual manifest must be a tab delimited file (.tsv or .txt).

CREATE TOOL FORM: Here are the specific sections made in the tool form to create this particular tool. Many of the selectable features can be added to any tool depending on the needs of the task.

Note that you must type what you want each button to display in the text box beneath where it says “Judgment Buttons”, and have them separated by pressing the “Enter” button on your keyboard. To display checkboxes (where participants can select multiple answers, select “Multiple choice” under the text box.
